Thanks for the help on National Public Lands Day--September 22
A dozen volunteers assisted with work associated with two grants we received from the Access Fund and REI-Grand Junction. Pillars were set for a new bridge over the trail at the Sunday Wall trailhead in Unaweep Canyon, and new signage was posted at Mothers Buttress trailhead and Sunday Wall. In addition, a new trail was cut to reroute the approach trail to the new bridge. Thanks, everyone, for helping out!

WCCC Under Contract for TV Wall parcel
WCCC is under contract to sell the parcel located at the base of the Sunday Wall trailhead. We'll keep you updated. We're very excited to close on the sale and pay off our loan to the Access Fund. As you may be aware, WCCC purchased properties that include major climbing venues; over the past several years, we have subdivided the cliffs to "keep" while ensuring free and open access to our favorite Unaweep cliffs. Our intention has been to sell the buildable parcels on the highway frontage in an effort to retire our debt to the Access Fund. We appreciate the patience of the AF through this slow and arduous process.
Help WCCC raise funds to cover closing costs and maintain our tax-exempt status for the property's management. Click on the "donate now" button on the left side of this website! Thanks, Eve

There will be a memorial for John Peterson at Mothers Buttress on August 5th at 11:00 AM. Marti and the Petersons' sons will also attend. Jesse Zacher, President of the Western Colorado Climbers' Coalition, will say a few words about John's inspiration to protect the Unaweep crags. If you have stories to share or comments for Jesse to pass along, please attend or contact Jesse. Thanks!

Unaweep Real Estate Update
We have closed on the sale of the building lot at the base of the Mothers Buttress. It's quite a milestone for us. The neighbors seem like really nice folks and are moving to Unaweep from out-of-state to build a home.
We have the TV Wall property listed for sale. Check it out at christireece.com. The well permit is in place and we're in the process of completing the process to obtain a CDOT driveway permit. What a great place to live--with the Sunday Wall trailhead as a neighbor!
A special thanks goes out to Steve Johnson, Dave Foley, and Jesse Zacher for all their work on this.
